About
About SwiftFormats
SwiftFormats is an independent collection of practical file tools that run in a modern web browser. The goal is simple: make common conversions quick, understandable and private by default.
What the service does
The site covers focused tasks for images, animated GIFs, video, PDFs, Word documents, fonts and CSS units. Each page describes the accepted input, the produced output, available settings and known limits so you can choose the right tool before selecting a file.
Most converters process file contents locally on your device with browser APIs or WebAssembly. This avoids the upload queue used by many traditional conversion services. Analytics and normal hosting requests are separate from file processing and are described in the Privacy Policy.
How results are designed
- Format-specific pages keep the input and output fixed when that makes the task clearer.
- Quality controls are shown only when the selected format and converter support them.
- Batch tools report progress per file and provide individual downloads when available.
- Limits are stated next to the upload control because browser memory and format support vary by device.
Accuracy and limitations
Browser conversion is convenient, but it cannot guarantee that every source file will render exactly like the application that created it. Complex DOCX layouts, damaged files, unsupported codecs, encrypted PDFs and unusual font tables may require specialist desktop software. SwiftFormats reports an error instead of intentionally sending the file to a fallback server.
Contact and feedback
If a tool produces an unexpected result, include the tool name, browser, operating system and a description of the problem. Do not email confidential source files. Questions and feedback can be sent to hello@swiftformats.com.
